Justin Brown is an operator and strategist who focuses on one thing: making businesses work.
With more than 20 years of experience across healthcare, consumer, and emerging industries, he has built a career around identifying what is broken, misaligned, or under-optimized—and fixing it. His work spans product launches, revenue development, and the design of partnerships and structures that enable companies to scale.
Justin has operated across the full spectrum of business building. He has launched multiple products and built early-stage commercial operations from the ground up, developing go-to-market strategies, establishing distribution, and creating the systems and teams required to support growth. He has also operated in capital-constrained environments, working with boards and leadership teams to maintain operations, navigate uncertainty, and position companies for recovery when outcomes were far from certain.
He approaches every company through the lens of commercialization. Strong ideas are not enough—businesses must be built to execute, scale, and sustain. That principle defines his work.
At Spire, Justin operates as a venture architect—working alongside founders not just as an investor, but as an active partner in shaping the trajectory of a company. His focus is on structuring the right relationships, aligning incentives, and building pathways to market that materially improve outcomes. He believes the gap between vision and execution is where most companies fail—and where the greatest opportunity exists.
A third-generation Californian and San Diego native, Justin is a former athlete and coach who brings a competitive, team-first mindset to his work. He serves on multiple boards and is committed to building companies—and communities—that endure.
